My dog has what looks like a hot spot under his rib cage.  Is this something I can treat myself or should I take her to the vet.

Hello, I have noticed that my dog is very itchy and scratches very much.  Adding to that I suspect that he has dog dandruff.  At least I think this is what it is as it looks like the typical dandruff flakes that humans get.

The issue is not only the the flaking skin but also the fact that it causes him to itch a lot which is causing rashes on his skin.

Any suggestions would be great.
